Then I'll buy her crêpes to find the person for whom crêpe-purchasing would be effective.

Regarding the DFRPG sales, can they get permission to designate someone's room as a booth with set hours of operation? Would a vendor permit be needed, and is that at the con's discretion? I don't know how elaborate the permitting process would be, and if the Con Room just took orders and emailed Evil Hat for distribution it wouldn't be perfect, but it might generate sales since live demonstrations would be going on.

I know keeping stock on hand and dealing with money is never as easy as it looks from the other side.

The FINAL THREE TICKETS to the Jim Butcher Fan Dinner at NYCC are now up for auction!  The auctions end September 25th at 11pm Eastern.

Ticket #1/3 - Ticket #2/3 - Ticket #3/3

Proceeds from this auction will go towards covering any unexpected costs of the event, and all surplus will go to the The Avon Foundation via BooksForBoobs: fighting breast cancer while supporting awesome authors!

Books for Boobs and Project Teddybear have 60 other live auctions right now, which are purely for Avon fundraising--all proceeds from these auctions (after fees and costs) will go to The Avon Foundation.  BooksForBoobs' offerings include autographed books by Pat Rothfuss, Mary Robinette Kowal, Scott Westerfeld, 2010 Campbell-winner Seanan McGuire, and more!  Project Teddybear's current batch includes stars of TV Land, Sci-Fi, and the cast of White Collar.  Spread the word!

Hey, what happened to all those folks who were devastated to have missed the sale?  Ticket #3 doesn't have a single bid yet. :D

Peter V. Brett broke the news, so I guess it's okay to tell everyone now:  Jim will take part in NYCC's Epic Fantasy Panel at 7:30pm-8:30pm on Friday, October 8th.  It will include Joe Abercrombie, Peter V. Brett, Jim Butcher, Naomi Novik (and possibly Brandon Sanderson).

Jim's signings are still being negotiated.  We should have details before the middle of next week.

Well, crud.  Won't be able to go to that one.  LotR concert starts at 7:30.

In hopes that I'll be able to get a reasonably decent seat, I'm definitely bringing our Flip. Also the netbook to download video and clear out the Flip memory so I can record more. :D

And a tangent, how do you like the Flip?  My b/f is thinking about getting something like that.

I adore my flip.  The audio quality is excellent for such a tiny device.  I wish it had a better zoom, though.

Is that one of those events anyone can go to or is that one of the upgraded ticket events?  I haven't been to a Con since the Star Trek Con at the Americana Hotel in 1976.  I think most of you guys weren't born yet!
