William Shatner just launched a pretty slick (if a tad corny) networking site for creative types. It's getting HAMMERED right now with hits, so it's a bit flaky on access, but I expect that to level out. I'm on as Mickey Finn.

MyOuterSpace.com is a Sci Fi Social Network for those with a passion for the arts. Whether you are a fan of Sci Fi, Horror or Fantasy or seeking a career in the Science fiction industry MyOuterSpace.com has much to offer. Register on the planet that host your talent, fill out a profile and connect with others in your field. Submit your resume for a Starship project that needs your talents. Whether you are an actor, writer, animator or gamer MyOuterSpace.com has a home for you. Creative Talent, be sure to register on the planet that hosts your specialty, and you may be selected by a Captain to join his/her Starship Crew. Visitors won't be able to participate on a Starship Project unless they become a citizen of a United Planet. I will be monitoring all Starship projects, and reviewing each Captain's Log, where progress will be recorded each step of the way. The Captains will seek out new talent on the various Planets to build a winning team. There are six Starships ready to crew-up and develop a dynamic entertainment production, so register now, participate and keep your eyes to the stars, William Shatner

(Planets are style of creativity*, I take it starships are actual projects. It's project management with a scifi filter)

Looking around it real quickly, it looks pretty neat.  And the one really big plus is that the TOS say that you retain the rights to anything you post.

This has been a busy week here at the MOS offices. We have changed to a state of the art server so we will not be having any more problems with bandwidth, and have 99.9 % uptime. This week we added the Bogging, Instant messaging and the new MOS mp3 player. Bands And Musicians on the Planet Orpheus your wish has come true; post your music to your profile! Writers Blog it up and everyone try the new instant messaging located on the right of your profile!

I had the same problem.  I went with Creatia, for the writerly side of me, but the gamer planet was intriguing.

Interestingly you can join other planets after setting up your account, so I am quite happy now.  I chose Creatia as my main account type and was able to join the animation and gaming planets after the fact.
