Mark one-maybe. I don't get out of class until 11ish. From there it's a three hour drive, then finding the place.

For the Star Pizza lunch it would help to compile approximate arrival time for the reservation.  I have two people at 1pm at this time.

I haven't checked with MBTB yet, so... How does it work getting a signed book there? Do you have to order ahead? Do you show up, pay, and get your number to stand in line at the event?
Last time MBTB mandated one Butcher hardcover be purchased and three item limit first time through.  Store opens at 10am.  Last time I called at 9:45, paid by credit card, received a line number (lined up in groups of 10) and retrieved the book later.

Thanks!  I'll be calling them then!

Edwards Greenway Palace 24.   3839 Weslayan Houston, TX 77027 is really close and nice.

Warning: They charge for parking.

However, they have a decent restaraunt built into the theater. And it is a great theater, very slick.

I will likely swing by at 1:30 or 2 for a quick bite and socializing...I get off work at 1, unless I can sneak out earlier, but have to swing back to pick up my girlfriend for dinner and the event. In Sugarland. Which is 30 mins away without rush hour traffic.

I believe it's $2 but would first check street parking behind and nearby as often there are spaces weekday afternoons.

5 of us are coming down from Dallas as well.  I may have to borrow Hazer's idea of seeing Clash of the Titans to kill some time.  We wanted to check out the Red Lion Pub after seeing it on Food Networks' "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives".  I love Dallas' Trinity Hall so I wanted to compare Red Lion.  Look forward to seeing everyone at the store.

For Lunch, only four have said they can meet at Star Pizza around 2pm.  Since it's only a few days away maybe we should get the time settled and if people are eating lunch.  If most are not eating and arriving at various times in the late afternoon, Godde Co. BBQ (http://goodecompany.com/goodeRestaurantBBQKirby.aspx) might be best as it has open picnic table seating and counter ordering?  Star Pizza is good for large groups who are mostly eating.

And you need to designate a note-taker, for the signing and any after event with Jim!!

You know I will be asking for a full report when I get to KC!   8)

Imagine signing will go until 8:30 or so and most restaurants close by 10.  Nearby bars would be a good option.  IHOP and Taco Cabana are nearby for eating with good seating.

Not sure what time we're getting in. I just know I have a hotel booked, the car got its oil changed finally and my brother will probably be driving. He's better at big city stuff than I am. He's lived out of state. :P Mostly why I wanted to bring him along. He has a sense of direction. ;) I'm also charging up my GPS and hoping that it will work despite me not paying to get new maps. I'm sure it's not totally off by much. Got the bookstore and hotel programmed into it already as well as backup info on my cell written down.

Not sure if we will make lunch, but more than likely something afterward. I'll have to see what my brother wants to do.

Is Priscilla going to be there? I'm curious. Then I can wear the "White Collar" shirt I won so people will know who I am.  ::)

Since only a few can meet in the afternoon at various times Star Pizza might not be best.  I would concur with the Godde Co. BBQ suggestion ((http://goodecompany.com/goodeRestaurantBBQKirby.aspx) ) so people can arrive whenever, not eat and walk to store.

Is that okay?
