What not to do at Con.

Give blood, pass out in the bathroom. Wander out and lie down on a bench. Be helped by a woman dressed as the Goddess Athena and a bunch of EMT's (who were all super by the way) right in the middle of one of the main walkways between hotels.  Then, get your first ambulance ride ever to the hospital.

I did set the record to be the first person to leave the con via ambulance for 2010.  Whoopie ding dong.

I TOTALLY SAW YOU! :-)

and i totally looked at a thread from 2006 and thought Jim was going to be Sunday at 5:30.  missing the 1pm signing :-(  all good though. will be there Sunday AM!

UPDATE:  Jim will also be signing at the Buzzy Multimedia booth Saturday at 3pm.

I wish I'd seen this post in time..or is this the 2nd signing, that the con kicked everyone out of?

SIGH...I know the con is doing the best it can, moving his panels to bigger rooms, etc. Jim said he would do signings at his interview time 10 AM tomorrow...it's too bad he couldn't just go there early and sign from 9 - 10, then do the interviews? Or the con could give him a second signing time? Just too many fans here, and not enough space!  I'd really hate for him not to answer any questions, just to sign books. :( And the panels are cool, but you can't really ask Dresden specific questions, when there's a whole panel of authors.

Jim really has enough fans that he could do his OWN con, surely? Like Darkover, for Marion Zimmer Bradley, or that Jordan-con thing that Branden Sanderson was talking about. I mean, JB almost singlehandedly filled an entire HUGE room for that CSI panel...

HEH, the line was beyond insane.  You wouldn't have gotten in, anyway.

From Fred, at 2:17pm on Sunday:

"Outside the Hyatt setting up for some impromptu Jim signing. Under the trees, up the ramp."

If you missed him before, now's your chance!

Thanks...I was naughty. I put my copy of Changes up at Jim's place on the NYT bestseller panel, with a note asking him to sign, and a silly bribe to make up for my audacity. Apparently Starbursts will do the trick.  ;)

I think I made his day a little more surreal - ooooops...sorry. Either that or he was disconcerted by the condition of my book, which looks like it barely survived the battle at Chichen itza. My two year old triplets like to to try to read whatever I'm reading...and I think they got mad when they got to the end of Changes. I'm not sure WHAT they did to the book!  :D

Sigh, saw this at 6pm on line for Claudia Christian/Jason Carter's second panel.  I did stand on line for 90 minutes for the saturday 3pm thing that didn't happen. The Dealer's room guy was at least apologetic "I'm going to have to be a dick right now..." when he came out to tell us it wasn't going to happen.

Is there any chance that Jim is going to be around on Monday?

I did manage to get an autograph on my copy of Backup, Mike Mignola's.

it was absolutely fabulous meeting all of you that I got a chance to meet! What a great group. For those of you I didn't have nearly enough time to talk to (sorry I didn't see you again, Yeratel!) there is always next uear! Maybe I'll have made up for lost sleep by then. (Can you believe they stopped the dance at 6 am this morning? Sheesh. That's barely a party. ;) )
