Pictures in the signature field?

I see some people embed pictures in their signature field, so I know it obviously can be done ... how is that done?

Use BB code to display the image.  It should be an image you uploaded--don't link to someone else's site!

Your TOTAL sig should be less than 80 pixels tall.  By including both text and image, you're about double that.

While we're talking about picture size rules, what are the avatar rules?

We prefer for folks to conform to the LJ standard of 100x100, though anything under 125x125 is kosher.
