Ugh... I'm a total virgin, but even I know sex ain't like what they're describing. Gaaah... if it were, it would turn anyone with sense into a celibate and we'd have to start growing babies in bottles like in Brave New World.

Anyone who uses the word "pistons" in a sex scene has to turn in their creative license, stat.

Worse yet, he'd make it work and then everyone would be trying it.

But what about all the Terminator and Robocop fanfic writers ?
Mildly OCD. Please do not troll.

kittensgame, Sandcastle Builder, Homestuck, Welcome to Night Vale, Civ III, lots of print genre SF, and old-school SATT gaming if I had the time.  Also Pandemic Legacy is the best game ever.

Heh, that's the exception that helps define the rule...

The word that I am looking for here, I think, is "RoboCopulation".

Hey Neurovore:  I know you've written favorably about a book called The Kindly Ones in other threads; I trust it isn't the same one as this year's winner of the Soft Boiled Eggs in Sex Writing Award?

Almost certainly not; the one I have in mind is a Melissa Scott from 1987.

Certain analogies, if used at all, must be used sparingly and purposefully to define a small portion of the behavior, not the entire act.  Like 'pistons' ::)

Also, somebody really needs better translators...
Am I a wannabe who won't finish, or tadpole author waiting to grow up?  Probably the former, but we'll find out later.

I love this!  Now--honestly, would you show up to get your award?  I think I might, just to see who showed up!!!

And LOL  robocopulation   new classic!  Somehow I think I need to go back and rewatch those Star Gate shows with the replicators....were some of them? ....Well, you never know what some bored CGI designer might be doing....   ::)
