Heh. Typical gamut of gamer response, from "OMGAWESOME" to "Meh, I'm cynical and will bash anything". :)

Yeah, that's the early part, but later on it gets into some good q&a between me and the fans -- including a statblock for Shiro.

Excellent stuff!

Thanks for posting Shiro - I wouldn't want to cross swords with that guy  :D

Also, what kind of effect does the power Bless this House have? I remember seeing it as a power for the True Believer too.

It allows the user to make a prayer that boosts the potency of a location's threshold.

Oooh, nice! I like that a lot.

If I get to play (I'm usually the GM), I think I would run a True Believer in the Father Forthill mode.

Yeah, that's definitely a fun character type.

This may be a dumb question, but does the character's HIGH CONCEPT aspect have different qualities than the the regular aspects or is it just a way to describe their niche in few words?

Ah. I skimmed through, picking a page here and there. Always good to hear good back-and-forth on creative aspects.

It has a different emphasis in play, and is usually the aspect that gets compelled to enforce some of the downsides of playing that type of character (like a faerie's aversion to cold iron).  Mechanically though it's "just" an aspect.

Ah. I skimmed through, picking a page here and there. Always good to hear good back-and-forth on creative aspects.

There's a reason I titled this "worth reading" and not "worth skimming". :)

Just gone done reading the RPG.Net thread on DFRPG and wanted to drop a word to you Fred and the rest of the crew.

None of us asked you in person to do this game. You decided to take on the blood sweat and tears of making an RPG, and one as massive as a Dresden Files at that.

And as a role-player of 25+ years and a Dresden Files fan of 3+ years I wanted to state this in as public forum as possible.

Thank you.

Yeah, I know it's not out yet. Yes I know it won't be out next week. I don't care.

And no doubt, there have been and will be times you just want to say "Aw, screw it!" and just chuck this whole damn thing off of a cliff somewhere.

But you haven't and gods willing you won't.

But until you get the book out and published and I meet you at a con with my copy in hand to get it signed by you and the rest of the crew present, I am still going to be here saying "thank-you".

Because you are doing it, and you haven't quit.

Anyway, I'm done ass-kissing for now. Thanks.

Thanks!

I mainly just had a weak moment of running into the "meh" part of the thread when I really needed a "yay!"  But I'm past it. :)
