Quiet celebrations...
« on: October 05, 2009, 01:04:06 AM »
I just finished the 2nd attack, chapter 7,  of my sequel YA after planning it for over a week.

As a reward celebration, I'm off to a nice relaxing bathtub full of water and bubbles with a glass of wine.

So what do you do for those small steps forward?

Treat myself to a nice walk/bike/slow jog around my scenic small town. theres this little hill we call "Hamburger Hill" and it is the highest point in the city. if you look at a certain spot you can see the whole city. You can only see trees, for the most part, even though its mostly houses beneath them.

*Relaxed sigh* Its inspirational.

Or i just do homework because i'm in highschool and thats what i was supposed to be doing in the first place.

I find they are their own reward.

(3600 words Friday.  One more chapter down.  Three and an epilogue to go and this project is done.)

kittensgame, Sandcastle Builder, Homestuck, Welcome to Night Vale, Civ III, lots of print genre SF, and old-school SATT gaming if I had the time.  Also Pandemic Legacy is the best game ever.

Start new projects.   I'm shameless that way.

I usually reward myself with a break of some sort: a trip to the kitchen for a snack, or a drink. Sometimes I'll watch an episode of some show I've been meaning to get to, to give myself some space from the project.

Other times, the reward is momentum to charge right into the next portion.
