Writing Group
« on: May 24, 2009, 03:21:44 AM »
Does anyone know of any existing writing groups in the Kansas City/Independence area?  I've been writing 'for fun' for a few years now and would like start getting feedback on what I'm writing.  I love my wife dearly, but she rarely likes sci-fi or fantasy novels to begin with.

Any suggestions?

I found my writing group through Meetup.com. I'll bet you there's a bunch of writing groups that meet in your area listed there, too.
If you are up to no good, please do no good for me too, okay?   ;D

I have two writer's groups that are online.  Both are off shoots from mediabistro.com classes.  One tries to have chat sessions and the other is very ad hoc.  We post when we are desperate.  The oldest one is quite a nice support group an the second is sci fi/magic orientated.  So don't overlook that route either.

Don't overlook the Writers Workshops over at hatrack.com.  I used to be in a writer's group on that site years ago, and it can be a great place to get feedback.  The veterans are very, very knowledgeable.
