I may have hit some form of collegiate jackpot, because I am less than four hours away from this signing, and from the KY one. Hooboy. Can't wait to hit up both events!
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't an invisible demon about to eat your face.

WOOT! I just moved about an hour or so north of Dayton. That 936 mile drive seems worth it now :D

Does anyone know if he signs older books as well. If I drive from Baltimore I'd like to get all his books signed. Thanks.

Yup.  Jim's usual rule of thumb is that he'll allow three items signed, and if time permits, you can get back in line to get more things signed.  He's usually happy to sign anything that holds still long enough--the limit is only in place to ensure everyone that wants a signature gets one.

If I can make it I will go as a wizard. Do many other folks go in costume?

You forgot a 3rd option - keeping wife happy. She'd not be amused I skipped class to go to Dayton. :)

I am really looking forward to this.  I live in the Dayton area and was excited to learn he would be here.  That is what got me to register finally on here.   :)

Just found it on their website... My wife and I were looking forward to going, but apparently you cant get in line without buying Turn Coat from that particular store and having a receipt?  I guess we'll buy another copy but that just seems... uncool...

Is this the usual rule for book signings?

Yes. It's a rare store that will let you have the author sign anything if you don't buy at least one copy of the promoted book at their store. They aren't flying these guys in out of the goodness of their hearts, ya know? They're trying to sell some books! Nothin' wrong with that!
If you are up to no good, please do no good for me too, okay?   ;D

Well then I guess in a way that it is good I did not go. I already have two copies. One Jim signed at Dog Eared books for me, and a plain one I bought at Barnes to have him sign for a friend of mine. I would have been irate to find out at the last minute after driving 5 hours that I still had to buy another book.
